WHAT IS D of E?

The Duke of Edinburgh’s award is an internationally acclaimed charity which challenges young people to be the best they can be. There are three levels to the award, bronze, silver and gold. Each of these levels is made up of four sections: service, skill, recreation and an expedition. The gold also includes an additional residential section. It requires persistence, commitment and has been seen to have a long lasting effect on the lives of those who take part. The benefits of the Duke of Edinburgh Award are huge. Whether you’ve got Bronze, Silver or Gold level on your C.V, it tells employers that you are self-sufficient, healthy, giving and skilled.

Ben Bullen Adventures are an Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. This means we meet all the standards for delivering expedition training plus the expeditions at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Ben Bullen Adventures offer outstanding experiences for schools, individuals and families. All activities are fully insured and all staff who work on any activity offered by Ben Bullen Adventures are appropriately qualified with nationally recognised certificates and come with a wealth of experience. We are also covered by an AALA licence which allows us to operate in all corners of the Country.

SCHOOL GROUPS

For school groups we offer tailor made programmes to suit your needs. We can create a bespoke experience which works best for you. Each Duke of Edinburgh expedition requires training, a practice and a qualifying expedition. We work with you to develop the support you need in order to complete your programme. We offer a wide variety of expeditions in a multitude of locations by means of walking, canoeing or bell boating. We also have open expeditions if you are looking for an expedition to do on your own or with a couple of friends. Follow the links for further details.
